The Raising Cantonese Kids in SF Bay Area group is currently raising funds to support The Little Bookworms Library in their efforts to expand their collection of Cantonese children's books.

Located in Menlo Park, California, The Little Bookworms Library (小書蟲圖書館) is a community resource center and platform for families with children interested in Chinese literacy and culture. They provide a range of free services, including weekly Cantonese storytime sessions, a dedicated Chinese library, and a specially designed play space for children aged 0-6. All of these resources are freely accessible to the general public.

While The Joy Culture Foundation has provided a seed fund for establishing a Cantonese Children's library, additional funding is required to purchase a wider variety of books, including Colloquial Cantonese + Jyutping and written Cantonese + Jyutping, which are challenging to find. With a donation of just $1000, we can acquire 80 books at once, and even a contribution of $25 can help us obtain two books. All the books we purchase will be made accessible to the public for their enjoyment.

The establishment of a dedicated Cantonese library will further enhance the existing resources and language programs available to the community. It will also contribute to fostering stronger connections within the global Cantonese diaspora, promoting cultural exchange and understanding.
