港人申PR由6個月變8年！認為自由黨政府誤導移加港人，影子移民部長保證代香港人出頭！
影子移民部長Tom Kmiec認為政府喺2024年5月承諾用人道方式解決香港人工作簽證問題，但實際上完全係虛假同誤導。佢哋針對香港人嘅移民途徑削減幅度高達50%，而其他途徑只係20%左右，仲冇清楚解釋背後原因。好多申請永久居民（PR）嘅人要等8年，期間可能要續簽工作簽證兩三次。政府早知會有呢啲問題，但明顯唔理會，移民部長Marc Miller更加係無心處理。保守黨會喺委員會繼續追究，代表香港人質詢點解自由黨多次誤導社群。
Tom Kmiec MP commented that the government’s May 2024 promise to address expiring work permits for Hong Kongers with a humanitarian approach was false and misleading. They implemented a 50% cut in immigration pathways specifically targeting Hong Kongers, compared to only 20% for other streams, without providing clear explanations. Many applicants now face an 8-year wait for permanent residency (PR), requiring multiple work permit renewals in the process. The government was aware of these issues but showed no concern, and Marc Miller appears indifferent and uninformed. The Conservatives plan to hold the government accountable in committee and question why they misled the Hong Kong community.
