【 228兩週年:美國國會議員積極聲援47人 繼續推動多條香港法案 】【 2nd Anniversary of Hong Kong’s 228 Arrests: U.S. Congress Members Stand With #NSL47 and Advocate for Hong Kong Legislation】
The chairman of the Select Committee on the CCP, Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), and its members, Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD) and Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL) held a press conference marking the second anniversary of the #NSL47 arrests on Feb. 28, 2023. Sunny Cheung, HKDC's Policy Advisor, was invited to share his insights at the press conference.
During the press conference, Chairman Gallagher discussed further steps the U.S. Congress could take to draw attention to the case of the #NSL47, including revoking the status of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, offering some form of immigration pathway for the persecuted in Hong Kong, and working on relevant disclosure legislation in Congress.

The Congressional-Executive Commission on China also issued a statement supporting the call for further sanctions, naming 6 Hong Kong prosecutors involved in the #NSL47 prosecutions as potential targets.

Following the press conference, the Select Committee on the CCP held its first hearing on the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party, which HKDC team members attended.
