少時為生計由大陸逃到香港做紡織工、創立時尚品牌成為著名企業家；爾後毅然創立親民主派報章《蘋果日報》而成為中共政權眼中釘、被大陸官方口舌形容為「禍港四人幫」，終被控以「勾結外國或者境外勢力危害國家安全罪」而身陷囹圄，不知何年何月才能重獲自由……

透過他的親身見證，以及多名外交官、民主分子和學者的獨家採訪，這部電影將讓各位看到黎會智英為了香港民主自由而奮鬥的故事。

From a 12-year-old child fleeing from the oppression of Maoist revolutionaries, to a simple textile labourer in Hong Kong to then the owner of fashion brand, Giordano, and later, the guardian of freedom of speech and the press in Hong Kong as founder of Apple Daily. The movie chronicles Jimmy’s story of heroic sacrifice as he marched alongside millions of his fellow Hong Kongers in defence of freedom and democracy which led to his own arrest and imprisonment.

Through his own testimony as well as exclusive interviews with diplomats, citizen activists, scholars, and friends from across the globe, the audience shall see before them a Jimmy Lai who is truly a symbol of the freedom movement.
