Multiple journalists are forced to stop commenting about Hong Kong politics. On May 13, MingPao cartoonist Zunzi, posted his last editorial cartoon. He was targeted by the Hong Kong government and police for multiple times before his column was axed.
His books were also found to be taken off from the libraries at the same time. His is political comic was posted for 40 years at MingPao.
On May 11, notable journalist Tim Hamlett, also posted “Why am I giving up writing about Hong Kong politics on Hong Kong Free Press.

Hamlett expressed the risk of criticizing the Hong Kong government using multiple examples. He also compared Hong Kong politics with North Korea. In the article, he wrote, “I am still up for new experiences but the inside of a Hong Kong police cell is not on my bucket list.”
