Love in the Time of Revolution is a documentary filmed during the 2019 Pro-democracy Social Movement in Hong Kong.
It will take you across the oceans onto the streets of Hong Kong, to the very frontlines of the protest movement, where ordinary citizens-turned activists are locked in direct confrontation with the authorities and brutalised by the security forces. It is where the extraordinary story of love and bravery; hopes and despairs unfold as the destiny of the 7 million people of Hong Kong became so intricately woven into the fabrics of a time of political and social upheavals. When freedom comes at a cost, do you stand ready to sacrifice?

Time : 4 - 7 pm (Q&A session with the director Twinkle Ngan after screening)

- The duration of the documentary is 107 minutes. English subtitles are provided with Cantonese as the main spoken language.
- The film is BBAC rated for age 15+.
- Free seating on first come first serve basis, entry to the screening hall begins at 1600.
- Digital tickets must be presented by audiences for entry, we will regrettably not be able to admit those who fail to do so.
- Please be reminded that refunds or changes to tickets cannot be entertained after confirmation of payment.
- Members of the audience arriving late will be arranged to be seated only at certain intervals during the screening, we cannot guarantee entry for members of the audience who do not arrive on time as scheduled.
- In case of any disputes, Birmingham HongKonger’s decision shall be final.
